Your dashboard is the homepage that opens when you first log in to the DHS Learning LMS, and it allows you to access the most important details of your online learning from one central location.
No matter where you are in the system, it’s easy to return to your dashboard if you get lost—simply click (a) the DHS Learning logo in the top left-hand corner of the screen, or (b) the dashboard breadcrumb link below the page title, to go directly to your dashboard.
Blocks
Much of the DHS Learning website is divided into information blocks, which contain a variety of knowledge and tools. Some provide straightforward information, like the NEED HELP? block on your dashboard. Most blocks, however, are dynamic—such as Recent Learning, Calendar, and Upcoming Events—and update as you make progress and personalize your e-learning.
Recent Learning
The Recent Learning block displays a list of all your active courses, plus the amount of progress you’ve made in each one. You can (a) click a course name to launch it or (b) click a progress bar to quickly view your completion status for that particular course.
Completed Courses
If a progress bar displays 100%, congrats! You’ve finished that course and received credit, so you’re off the hook (for now!). Click the progress bar to see the date you completed the course.
Completed courses remain active in your Recent Learning until they are archived (i.e., if the course has been updated to a new version, or if the course is for an annual certification that has expired). But don’t worry—even when a completed course disappears from your dashboard, you can always find it on your Transcript, which includes both active and archived courses.
Courses in Progress
Click an empty or partially filled progress bar to view a popup that displays (a) the number of activities you have left to finish in the course and/or (b) a list of system users (Site Manager, Course Editor, etc.) who can manually mark you complete (ignore this option except in special cases).
- If the popup states, Any of the following criteria need to be met to complete this course, you only have to complete one of the listed requirements to get credit.
- If the popup states, All of the following criteria need to be met to complete this course, you must complete all of the listed requirements to get credit.
