(sound effect) Introducing the New Look of the Learning Management System (narrator) Welcome to the guided tour of the new look of the OKDHS LMS! The login page is still located in the same place, OKDHSLEARNING.ORG, but it has a new look. You will login the same way as usual, with your uNumber and password. Your login information will not change. After you log into the site you will notice some changes to the Dashboard, such as the new Search Courses block on the left side of the screen. We improved the design, but kept a lot of things the same. You will find the same tabs across the top of the Dashboard, including Transcript, Find Courses (with all the same categories), My Calendar, and Need Help? The new Search Courses tool lets you search all available courses directly from your Dashboard. Use a course title, keyword, or, if you have it, a course number in your search. Find the Last Course you accessed below the Search Courses block on the left side of the Dashboard. My Learning is now further down on the left side of the page, but you can still use it to access your Learning Record or see what events you have signed up for. In the center of the Dashboard you will find all the classes you are enrolled in--as well as those you have recently finished--under Recent Learning. You can check the progress of you courses from this panel. The LMS shows your progress in a course with a progress bar. Below the Recent Learning panel are your Alerts. Look at this block to see if you have successfully signed up for a seminar, or to check if a seminar was cancelled. On the right side of the new LMS Dashboard you will find an updated version of the Help tool. Here you will find links to common articles on the help site, as well as a link to the help site itself. Note how the Calendar block shows highlighted days. These mark events for that day; click the day to see more details about the events and whether you are booked, or still need to sign up. The Knowledge Base block contains links to the Quest sites. Upcoming seminars in your courses appear under Upcoming Events, along with a "booked" label or "sign up" button for each session. Use this block to check to see what you're scheduled to attend and what you still need to sign up for. (Courses) Courses are still formatted much the same way, with a few exciting improvements. Let's take a look at one. I will use the new Search block to find a course. Click the course name in your search results as before to access the course. Courses still look very much like what you are used to. Course activities like Learning Modules, Feedback, and Certificates are still listed in the center panel. "Greyed-out" activities are restricted until others are complete. They are still labeled "Not available unless the [Specified Prior Activity] is marked complete." Progress checkboxes are still displayed to the right of the activities, showing which have been completed. They will be hidden for restricted activities unless those activities are unlocked. One exciting addition is the new course-specific Navigation Block that appears at the top of the left panel on each course page. Below Participants, Badges, and Grades (which we rarely use), the block contains a list of the course's sections, like a table of contents for the course. Click the sections to expand them to show activity quick-links. If an activity is locked, it won't show up here until it is unlocked. This concludes the tour of the new look of the OKDHS LMS.
