The first step in taking a course is to find it! Easily locate courses you need by searching or browsing the DHS Learning course catalog. The catalog is organized into course categories, which often represent specific DHS service areas.
On your Transcript page, you can find information about your current and completed courses including Course Title, Previous Completions (for updated or annually renewed courses), Progress and Completion Date.
Sometimes course completions are archived—usually if (a) the course content is updated or (b) the course is part of an annual certification that needs to be renewed. You can use the Previous Completions column on your Record of Learning to view these archived completions.
There are three methods for course enrollment in DHS Learning: self-service, automatic and manual.
When you find a course you’d like to take, you can enroll yourself without any special permission—as long as the course is open for self-service enrollment.
Courses that are open for self-service enrollment are also open for self-service unenrollment, in case you enroll yourself by mistake or change your mind about taking an optional course.
